Gary Myers Update
Website update June 2007 We’ve been so busy and so much has happened our website is way overdue for this update. We have successfully staged two Sprint Auto Parts GazzaNationals in Adelaide in October 2005 and 2006. Thank you to all the street machine fans who supported these events and made them the blast they were. The DVD of the 2006 Sprint Auto Parts GazzaNationals in Adelaide is produced, and we’re very proud of that. Follow the link to purchase a copy online. The Sprint Auto Parts GazzaNationals in Adelaide have been so successful that we have decided to extend it from a one day event to two days in 2007. We’re now hard at it planning the 2007 event for Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th October; check out the details on our website. We’re also branching out to another state. We’re very proud to announce details of our plans to bring the GazzaNationals to Calder Park in Melbourne in March 2008. More information will follow soon on this NEW event. Meanwhile, at the 2007 Summernats20, Gary placed 2nd in the Burnout Masters’ event and came 1st in the Summernats20 Go-To-Whoa. We made the trip to Perth WA once again for Motorvation 2007 and had a ball. We have a saying: “They build them tough in WA”. That they do. We love making the trip over there and being a part of the vibe, and the burnouts are the toughest in Oz. We hope to make it seven years in a row 2008. Not long ago we did a wedding in Sydney with the Burnout Muzzy, driving the car all around Sydney including to Hyde Park, over the Sydney Harbour Bridge and to the Opera House. Pictures will be on the website soon. We have finally retired the black Burnout Muzzy from competitions, but she will still be having play time when promoters invite us to events as special guests to perform display burnouts only. But fear not, that is where the new beast steps in; Gary is busy building a Ford XA coupe which we hope to get into the Elite Hall in the Top 60 at Summernats21 in January 2008, and then go from there to the burnout pad to compete in the normal Burnout Competition. The new build is being closely followed by the good folks at Street Machine magazine and will be in all up-coming FORD special issues. Thanks to a lot of great sponsors, the awesome new build is on track for Summernats21. Without them it would have turned into a three year build like the Silver Bullet, which, by the way, is sitting here in the shed, still doing invited shows. We are thinking of bringing all three cars to Summernats21, as VPW are considering having the Burnout Mustang on their Trade Stand. So come and see us at Summernats21, it’s for you all. In many ways we had a really tough year last year, with the death of Gary’s dad, and still doing the whole car scene and running our own event. As our dad was a strong back bone and supporter in every thing that we did in the street machine scene, he will be greatly missed, but we are sure he is with us every where we go. RIP - Sidney James Myers. We also have a new addition to the Myers clan, a new little grandson - Chase Joseph Myers - born 31st May 2007. So that makes an all-boy car team; Gary, four sons and three grandsons. We want to thank all our boys for their great help and support - Ivan, Joseph, Joel and Jake, and our two daughters-in-law’s, Lisa and Carrie-Anne. Thank you all. Finally, a big thank you to all the fans; without you guys and girls, we wouldn’t be building a new beast and putting in the hard yards every day, every month of the year. You are our back bone that makes us keep on keeping on. Please come and see us at GazzaNationals and Summernats soon.
